Living Near Donald Munro c.1904-1907
Donald Munro aka Donny 'Cronken', took over Knockancurin Farm in 1877 until his death in 1911. He became a widely renowned bone-setter - recognised by some as, "the best bonesetter in the North."
Frasers were here from 1910 to 1934 (see interview with Duncan Fraser). They had a dairy farm with 50 cows. 5 or 6 of them would do the morning milking. There were 3 ploughmen, a cattleman plus one of the sons. They did the Evanton milk run. |

Parents Remain in Knockancuirn 1911
While Donald and Helen Walker (nee Gordon) had left for Bournemouth before 1911, her parents Donald and Helen Gordon remained at Knockancuirn Farm beyond the 1911 Census with their younger children. By this time the Frasers had taken ownership of the farm from Donald Munro who had moved to Alcester a little north, dying in 1911.
